This project is about looking at the stories of The Canary girls , during ww1 a group of women worked in munition factories, due to the harsh materials they were working with , their skin would turn yellow, which would lead to a lot of health problems as they aged, I was very interested in these women's stories as well as the fear of a potential ' third world war' , due to recent political conflicts, as well as the rise of nuclear weapons , I wanted to use these womens and combine them in a post apocalyptic world were nuclear material has destroyed the world and becoming 'infected' causes mutations in the human body, throughout this project I wanted to create a warning to show the dangers of nuclear materials as well as using stories from the past to show how we haven't learnt from history biggest mistakes.
