"Expectations" employs irony to show how one thing signifies another and to highlight to my audience the large gap in how many women's lives remain unchanged. It conveys the sense of a gilded cage, yet this is the life we must live to maintain good standing with society, keep our financial security as we are accustomed to, and most importantly, with our families.
