‘ACKNOWLEDGE’ is a co-educational tool that allows educators and professionals, including social workers, counsellors, youth workers and mentors, to understand the perceptions that the young adults they interact with, have about relationships.

It makes it easier to discuss these issues, to advise, guide and help them when necessary. To educate them about the importance of maintaining healthy relationships and eradicating domestic violence.

Reducing violence among young people is a high priority for many nations, including the UK. The aim of this project is to have a global impact educating about the subject in the different Educational Curriculums and through Organisations that work with young adults.

Final work

'DE-ESCALATION'

The game exposes multiple scenarios about domestic abuse in which the participants share their advice to overcome the given predicament on the game cards.

This way, the participants share their perspective and can reflect about the situations, making domestic abuse an open conversation amongst the group.

And with the support of a professional in the subject, they can discuss and debate which are the healthiest understandings.

'THE JOURNEY'

The game takes the participants through the cycle of abuse and the recovery journey, but the aim of this is to acquire knowledge about the different forms of abuse and other definitions intrinsically connected to them.

By looking for the right answers, the participants will be able to analyse their understanding about the topic, learn new terms and discuss them until clarifying their meaning.

With the help of a professional in the subject, these definitions exposed during the play can be expanded for everyone to feel confident about what they have learned.

'AGREEMENTS'

The game specifies in one of the many forms of abuse, in this case Economic Abuse.

While playing, the participants will be encountering cases where the economical stability of the person in the scenario exposed has been compromised, and two directions to take that lead to finding a way out of the situation.

The game aims to raise awareness about Economic Abuse and provide with, among others, options to deal with the situation. Such us, by reaching a service, close family and friends or seeking professional help.

Guided by a professional in the field, the participants will be able to spot the abuse, from its most subtle to its most obvious forms.
