Final work

I am a film student drawn to documentary-style filmmaking that explores identity, female relationships, and personal narratives. I use old camcorders to capture raw, intimate moments with a nostalgic edge. Graduation year 2025

I am interested in the effect of distance within relationships and the struggles of losing contact with family after moving countries. I wanted to focus on the importance of the relationship between mother and daughter, and took inspiration from the experiences of my own mothers life as she moved from Japan to Canada. I wanted to create an emotional and touching piece that reflects on themes of identity, belonging, relationships, and the passage of time.
