Alise Kersa

Profile picture of Alise Kersa

My name is Alise, and I specialise in womenswear design rooted in personal narrative and quiet observation. I’m drawn to the overlooked the objects, rituals, and fragments of daily life that often escape attention - I reframe them through clothing to challenge how we perceive value, beauty, and meaning. My work balances conceptual depth with tactile experimentation, often combining found materials and unexpected textures to evoke emotion and memory. With each project, I aim to create garments that speak not just to the body, but to the complexity of lived experience.

This project explores ideas of structure, control, and confinement, inspired by the safety systems and functional design of aircraft interiors and flight uniforms. Made entirely from recycled garments and fabric scraps, it focuses on sustainability and reworking waste materials into something new. I used patchwork layering and asymmetrical shapes to build a textured, sculptural silhouette. Buckles hold the garment together, suggesting tension and release, echoing the pressure of confined spaces.
