Final work

Alice – Photographer & Visual Storyteller

Inspired by the quiet details of the natural world, my work explores the emotional and physical connections between humans and nature. Through photography, writing, and book design, I create immersive experiences that ask viewers to slow down and listen. A Letter to Nature is a personal reflection on presence, fragility, and our ever-changing relationship with the environment.

A Letter to Nature is a personal and poetic dialogue between a forest and me, spoken through a blend of images and words. It’s a visual and emotional exploration that reaches beyond the surface, into the quiet connection that exists between people and the natural world. This project is rooted in memory, inspired by the deep bond my grandfather shared with the land and his farm. His connection with nature was intuitive, respectful, and consistent, something I’ve always admired. With this work, I hope to reflect not only on his relationship with the earth, but also my own.

Through photography, I explore the textures and forms of a forest: the bark, the dried leaves, the quiet winds, the trees. I focus on the often overlooked, the small, the subtle, the silent. These details, when captured thoughtfully, become visual love letters to the living landscape. Alongside the images is a personal handwritten letter, revealing emotions that are usually left unspoken. It’s reflective, raw, and honest, meant to sit with the viewer.

In a world where nature is too often ignored and taken for granted, A Letter to Nature becomes both a thank you and a gentle plea. It asks us to pause, to notice, to remember that we’re not separate from nature but part of it. The earth doesn’t just exist around us—it sustains us, holds our stories, and listens, even when we forget to speak.

This project is my way of reconnecting with my past, with the land, and with the parts of myself that get lost in the noise of everyday life. It's an invitation, not just for me, but for anyone who engages with the work, to look again at the world around them. To feel the ground beneath their feet. To listen to the wind in the trees. To write their own letters, to remember that we are not above nature, but within it.
