Agnes McWilliam

Inspired by Foucault’s ‘Discipline and Punish’, my costume is of a reconnaissance soldier, sent ahead to observe and gather information, who has been left waiting for the rest of its army in vain. The troop it waits for is never going to arrive. It surveils uselessly, and without a superior officer to relieve it from its post, indefinitely. It is left to wander would-be battlefields and perpetually maintain itself as it prepares for a war which will never come.
