Where Do You See Yourself in 5 Years is about turning a question into something real. It uses plus-size casual wear to explore structure, discipline, craftsmanship and elegance through bold embellishment and detailed surface design. The project reflects how the designer wants to grow in her practice and in how she sees herself, using fashion as a space to express clarity and care. It challenges the limitations of plus-size casual clothing, which often avoids strong design choices and lacks attention to detail. The garments are repurposed and reworked with unconventional materials to add weight, texture and meaning. The pieces are the designer’s own clothes, embellished to feel like a step toward the person she wants to become. Geometry in the designs represents discipline and structure, while the ornate details are inspired by ironwork and jewellery and symbolise craftsmanship, elegance and individuality. Together, they create pieces that feel strong, thoughtful and refined. This project is about taking something overlooked and treating it with intention. It shows what plus-size casual wear can become when design is used to express identity and value. Each piece is made slowly and carefully, as a way of imagining the future through process and personal choice.
