About

Yidan Xu (dandan) is a designer who recently graduated from the Innovation Design Engineering (IDE) programme, a joint Master’s degree offered by the Royal College of Art and Imperial College London. Prior to this, she studied at Renmin University of China, studying in Design and Design Theory, with a particular focus on visual design and design psychology.

She was awarded the National Scholarship of China for academic excellence, and her work has been featured in Beijing Youth Daily. She also gained hands-on experience at Huawei’s 2012 Laboratories, where she deepened her interest in user experience driven design.

She is someone who is constantly seeking innovative solutions. Her practice is rooted in user research and integrates technology to explore cross-disciplinary solutions. She is passionate about applying design as a hybrid medium to address complex societal issues and to bridge the gap between design and other industries.
